THE GOVERNOR’S LIES

Governor Rauckis stated that his office would always have an open door policy. However, on two separate occasions he breached his campaign promise and policy. On Friday, Senator Simon Boehme was denied access to the Governor’s office for about ten minutes while the Governor cooled off after a heated discussion. At another separate incident, the Governor told Mayor Richard Ortman that his request for grant money was not important enough to hear during a joint session of the Senate, House, Board of Education, and the Governor. A mob formed behind Mayor Ortman and was barred from the Governor’s office. Twice the Governor has denied his citizens access to his office, and twice the Governor has broken his policy. What a pity! Also, Governor Rauckis did not know about two trust funds that existed in the Boys State Constitution. And still the Governor did not know about a press conference on Saturday morning with his office. He even scheduled a joint session of the legislature that had to be moved to an earlier time slot to make room for the press conference. The Governor must not like the press, or something. While Governor Rauckishas had many ups as Commander in Chief of Boys State, he has had some downs. All in all, he did his job to the best of his ability, even though it may not have been what was needed by Boys State at this time.
