Ryan Millikan: The Unsung Hero of the Supreme Court

Ryan Millikan, more affectionately known as “Senior Gilligan” by the Supreme Court justices, is the dutiful court clerk of the Boys State Supreme Court. Millikan is responsible for running papers, making copies, fetching water, coffee, and energy drinks, and serving as the justices’ errand-boy for a plethora of other random (and borderline demeaning) tasks the Supreme Court assigns him. Millikan suffers his plight with pride, however, and is endlessly determined to fulfill every single one of his duties by any means necessary.

For instance, while he was across the state making copies, Millikan received a message informing him that he was needed by the Court. Keeping true to his undying loyalty to the justices, Millikan sprinted clear across Boys State to serve his superiors. Upon the clerk’s breathless arrival, the justices offered the exhausted clerk a water bottle to refresh himself, which Millikan—in a flawless demonstration of his servile nature—mistook as an order to fetch water and proceeded to fill the bottle at the nearest water fountain.

While Millikan certainly has his quirks, it is undeniable that every government agency in Boys State could benefit from having a clerk or secretary as loyal, assiduous, and determined as the great Ryan Millikan.
