The Jackson city council recently passed zoning plans for business development. Around 4,687 acres have been set aside for the use of corporations and individual entrepreneurs, for the price of $6,346 per acre. Jackson city council officials are hoping that the zoning will be able to stimulate the economy through increase tax revenue, and provide jobs. Also in process is a negotiation with a contractor to provide an area for a low income housing project, which the city hopes will bring in more workers for the businesses developing. The housing project will be available to respectable families and singles. Over 800 acres have been set aside for the housing project.
