Plans: Millikan plans to solve Van Buren’s waste management problems by constructing new landfills and starting a mandatory trash collection service in which citizens will pay an initially high service fee that will decrease with time. In an effort to remedy Van Buren’s growing healthcare problem, Millikan will impose mandatory health insurance with the option of temporary government-funded Medicaid. He also hopes to use an increased sin tax on tobacco products, casino revenues, and gun sales to pay for the paving of new roads and improving Van Buren’s ambulances. In spite of growing concerns over gun control, Millikan is against stricter gun laws as he believes strict regulation of firearms may yield an increase in crime rate and damage the economy of the Van Buren Smith & Wesson plant.
