The City of Washington has recently received some potentially damaging news. The automotive industry, the backbone of the Washington economic base, is facing serious financial trouble. The GM Washington North Plant may close its doors. The company has sent letters intending to close some production facilities, unless some changes can be met. Many residents fear the closing of the two Washington plants. “We have watched for the past two years as jobs continue to move out of Boys State.”
