Girls State Rips On Boys State

Many Boys Staters on Thursday flocked to the East side of Brody to witness Girls State walk past. The excitement was surging, and the hormones were raging. Some of the Boys State delegates went so far as to lift up their shirts as the girls walked by. Some of these gentlemen had even written their phone numbers on their torsos to display to the world, and namely Girls State. This event most likely put Girls State in high regard in the minds of many of us here at Boys State. I am here to tell you to be careful when you make first impressions of people, or even a group like Girls State. Let me explain to you why. On Friday, I happened to get a hold of a copy of the Girls State newspaper, Politically Speaking. One feminist article in the paper talked about how women need to stand up for their rights in society. OK. It mentions that women are still paid less than men in the work force, despite having the same qualifications as men. Then I look and see that there is another article directly next to the feminist article. This other article talks about how Girls State is struggling to make time for every person to take a shower. This is due to the fact that, and I will quote directly from the article; “…girls take a very generous amount of time to get ready.” Well, I can tell you that here at Boys State, we have no problems whatsoever getting ready on time. This is very interesting, because I read in the feminist article that women should be treated equal to men. So I think I’m starting to understand what the girls are trying to say: Women should be treated the same as men, with the one exception being that it takes them longer to get ready in the morning. OK, fair enough. I’m glad we cleared that one up; it totally makes sense to me now.
