The gubernatorial race is taking off! Spurred by the motivational speaking of last year’s governor, Mr. Roman, candidates are beginning to campaign. Several of the candidates are Nationals; however, there are still some who are Federalists. These candidates are doing everything that they can to secure your vote. Before dinner upon the first day, posters were already flung upon walls, doors, and even floors. A couple creative candidates even sported signs upon their back. These are just a few of the tactics being used. Not everyone has decided to run though, others have helped their colleagues out in constructive was too!

The gubernatorial race isn’t just about campaigning however; it’s also about the issues. Some of the issues that face these hopefuls are: education, unemployment, urban reform, and the mystery topic that was later revealed taxes concerning revenue. Chances for these contestants come when each party (Nationalists and the Federalists) have their separate caucuses. The candidates will then have seven minutes to sooth, entice, and persuade the other delegates in their favor. However, the journey is not over yet. Once one candidate has been nominated upon their party’s ticket, they then run against the other party’s ballot in a state wide election. The winner of the gubernatorial race will be announced upon the Capital’s steps in a gallant fashion.
