Civil Suit Against Pierce City

The Mayor of Pierce City, Dan Fisher, has agreed to taking on the suit against them brought by a minority of Caucasian Americans. Since whites are the minority in this city, they had wanted to have a parade, celebration and protest because of it.

However, the mayor has offered alternatives to a parade saying that he is “…doing this to show that we are not racist or discriminating the minority.” He also says that he and his staff are looking at past incidents of this happening and for a precedence to help. He has immediately made it known that he is worried for public safety first and foremost (denying the parade and allowing TV and Radio air time) and realizes that, while they do have 1st amendment rights, there are also boundaries to that amendment. He does not have a problem with the protest so long as it is non-violent.

Mayor Fisher also says that he thinks that is may very well go as far as the Appellate Court, but he does not see it going to the Supreme court since they have the power to decide what and what not they wish to hear.
