The city of Jefferson dominated its county elections over sister city Madison on Monday.
The city took five out of six legislative positions, electing Andy Brown, Brandon Hall, Chris Strabel, Ian Flowers and Raphael “Raffy” Kuper to the capital.
In a closely contested county sheriff election, Jefferson’s Andrew Eickholt edged out Madison’s Clark Ramsey in Williams County’s most passionate election.
Ramsey went on to be in the “Final Four for nationalist governor.
In state races, Jefferson sends Brandon Hall for Board of Education and Chris Jordan for Board of Trustees.
Madison sends persistent David Bailey as the nationalist nominee for secretary of state. Bailey ran for many positions before he finally edged out Alex Cibor to secure the
nomination.
Madison also sends Spencer Smith as a nominee for state supreme court.
Smith drew strong praise from Jefferson citizens.
“Spencer is the only person I’ve liked from Madison since I got here at Boys State,” Brandon Hall said. “He’s a very smart, classy guy and would make an excellent State Supreme Court justice that we could all be proud of as citizens of Boys State.”
