Boys State Opera House To Seek New Home

The Boys State Opera Company is seeking a new home inside Taylor City. The proposal is to build a brand new Opera House inside the city on the waterfront. The company is asking the City of Taylor to allocate $24 million in public funds to help finish the construction. “We have put millions into this project and it will make the entire area more attractive. We need help with the funding from the city to continue”, stated a spokesperson for the Opera Company. The prior City Council made no funding available in the projected city budget? The new City Council and Mayor will have to address this issue once in office. “I hope they help fund the arts. It is important to everyone to have this jewel right here in Taylor”, said one 40-year-old resident.
