Drug charges were brought against a Blair county senator on Wednesday afternoon. During a regular training session of the Boys State Police working with drug-sniffing dogs in Blair County, the State Police noticed that the drug trail used for training the dogs was not the trail the dogs were following. Following the trail led to the discovery of over one gram of cocaine among Senator Sohrab Foroozesh’s possessions. State Chief of Police Shawn DeBaar presented a warrant for the senator’s arrest while the Senator ate dinner in Brody Complex.

The Senator is quoted as saying: “Love to God. You want a statement? Here’s a statement. I love weed. Drugs make the world go 'round." The quote was confirmed to be accurate by persons present when the arrest took place. In a later statement to Whirligig editor Justin Jackson, the senator said that he wanted the Whirligig to refrain from publishing his quotes from dinner. Foroozesh demanded that an official statement be printed. That request was denied. Later Wednesday night the allegations against Senator Foroozesh were dropped and both sides agreed to not file civil suits.
