A dam in Northeastern Boys’ State was halted when an environmentalist discovered the Furbish Lousewort plant. This very rare plant, thought to be extinct, was discovered by Running Bull of the Odawa Indian tribe while working on the construction of the $227 million dam.
The halting of the dam’s production will cost millions more in funds that were not originally fronted by the construction company. The public who put forth the money want the dam to move forward. Many of the workers who live in a nearby town believe that this dam is going to be the economic push that will cause the nearby town of Naperville to thrive and grow. A worker for a nearby soap plant was
quoted with this statement:
“This dam will be the incentive many businesses need to move here. Why does Darwinism delaying the construction of this dam cut out some extinct plant that is obviously being? How is it that this plant can hold some sort of cure, when nearly every new discovery in the past supposedly held some sort of great cure? The truth is, they never do. It’s all a scam that is used to stop expansion, and even if we started to harvest this plant for study, many of the environmentalists would complain about the collection of the Furbish Lospork plant. They will never stop complaining.”
Many of the forest-dwelling-animal-loving-left-wingers feel the exact opposite. “This dam is going to push me from my home and they found a plant that could cure cancer and diabetes, yet they want to continue with the plans; ruining the environment and the future medical advances of this country,” said one disgruntled student. The local government has decided to federalize the land and thus leaving the decision in the hands of the governmental system in Washington D.C. The federal government has put all issues aside temporarily to deliberate the fate of the near extinct plant. The War in Iraq has been called a truce for the time being, along with the hunt for Osama has been stopped, just like the dam’s construction in Northeastern Boys’ State.
