Legionnaires stand at attention

For Sponsors

Over 400 outstanding young men come to Boys State each year to learn about government in a fun, interactive format. Boys State has been in existence in Michigan for almost 70 years, and thousands of young men have completed the program and had their lives positively impacted. Many are motivated by their experience at Boys State to go on to careers in public service. We encourage you to browse through this website (especially the sections for the previous year) to see some of the activities that students experience at Boys State.

Anyone can sponsor a young man to Boys State. It can be done by contacting your local American Legion Post, or you can contact the Department's HQ at (517)371-4720 x 11 (Deanna Clark). We highly encourage individuals and civic-minded organizations alike to sponsor young men to Boys State. The cost is $310, but partial scholarships are accepted and encouraged. You can contact us also if you want to get involved with the program on a volunteer basis.

NEW for 2006! We have some promotional materials available for download! Go to the promotional section to check them out!

If you would like to sponsor a young man or donate to Boys State, you can use the contact page to contact us for more information. There are also forms in the applications/forms section.
