David C. Bittel
Dave has been involved with Boys State for a little over 38 years in a variety of positions. He was a city counselor for one year, a county advisor for two years, advisor for the legislative branch for 20 years, and has been athletic director ever since. He served in the Army during the Korean War for 2 years, and is presently a member of the American Legion. Dave was also a secondary teacher for 38 years, teaching Math and English for 6 years. He was a school counselor for 32 years. He also coordinated the criminal justice program and taught Human growth and development for 5 years in the Lansing School district. David received his B.A. and M.A. from Michigan State University, and is presently retired from teaching. He currently spends most of his time with sports and reading.
